New Year, New Me

As 2013 came to an end I did some reflection of the last year. This was definitely not my best year, but I did accomplish some things I am happy about.
— I lost 80 pounds
— I started Healthy Me, Happy Family
— I went through some big life changes and came out a lot stronger.
— and probably one of the most important things that happened in 2013, I am working towards continuing my education, I have decided on a career and am working towards my financial freedom.

The biggest thing I realized is that I am in control of my own destiny. I have the power to make my life whatever I want it to be. Yes, it will require me to make sacrifices, but in the long run it will be worth it and my life will be much better.

So what is in store for 2014? I will continue on my health and fitness journey. I am working towards finishing my education. I am taking more time to work on myself and becoming the person I want to be. I am making the necessary sacrifices to work towards financial freedom and chasing my dreams.

2014 is going to bring great things!

Let Me Introduce Myself

I am new to this blogging thing so be patient with me people. I have wanted to do this for a long time. I’m one of those girls that is constantly typing up blog posts but never had the nerve to actually post one. I have countless recipes that I have come up with that I want to share but there has always been that little voice in the back of my head saying “they aren’t good enough”. Well I’m done with the self doubt and worrying what people might think. I will never know if this is right for me if I don’t try.

Let me start by introducing myself…. My name is Kim. I am a thirty-something single mother with two amazing little girls. I am passionate about healthy cooking, fitness, and all things that will enhance the quality of my life and the lives of people around me. I have been on my own personal weight loss journey since October 2012. I started my journey after being diagnosed with gluten intolerance since then I have lost about 80 pounds. I have become more aware of what is in the foods I am feeding my family and I have been focusing on whole foods to improve my family’s health and quality of life. I would like to help others to improve their quality of life as well, whether it be by sharing healthy recipes, fitness tips, inspirational quotes and stories or whatever else I can do. My biggest goal in life is to help people. I want to make a difference in someone’s life. If I can help even one person I will feel that I’ve made a difference.
